After celebrating six years as a part of Kawasaki, the 2012 Ninja 650 got significant upgrades for the Ninja enthusiasts. This all rounder version but fuel conscious 649cc parallel-twin powering this middle weight Ninja street bike sees updates in the exhaust system, including a new header-section connector pipe and a three-chamber muffler design. There is a slight improvement with better mid-range torque on the 650. They have done styling changes into redesigning headlights, Fairing, Tank, Tail Tamp, and Split Seats, which have upgraded the sale of the bike.

As far as the launch date is concerned – The 2012 New Ninja 650R will be launch in the middle of June 2012
The revised suspension settings includes a 0.2 inch increase in travel front and rear (4.9” front, 5.7” rear), are apparently aimed at improved rider comfort. Kawasaki doesn’t clarify the suspension updates other than the moderate increase in travel. The 41 mm front fork and single shock rear out back include new settings include along with increased suspension travel, with a new backbone-type sub frame offerings a 10% increase in maximum carrying capacity. The clutch cable design is also reworked for easier pull and better control.
Fuel capacity of 4.2 gallons is up 0.1-gallon from last year, and battery size was decreased. Also up is curb weight, going from just under 450 pounds in 2011 to a little less than 461 pounds on the ’12 model. The 2012 Ninja 650 comes in Metallic Spark Black, Candy Lime Green or Passion Red. The good news is that once the Ninja 650R bookings re-start, we in India would get the new upgraded model.
Also the speculated price for the New 2012 Ninja 650R is INR 4.57 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi
and the On Road price would be around Rs. 5.25 lakh
