Bajaj and KTM 350cc Bike On Development

KTM and Bajaj Auto working on a twin cylinder engine platform

The partnership of Bajaj Auto and KTM brought the fruitful output in the form of KTM Duke
125 and the Duke 200. Bajaj Auto has strong plans to use the KTM technology for the first time
in the forms of the Pulsar 200 NS, which is on the planning mode. To continue their healthy
partnership, they will further spawn the KTM Duke 350 in coming year 2013. Bajaj motorcycle
is expected to use technology derived from KTM in the same upcoming launches.

It is coming from news that Bajaj Auto and KTM are planning to develop a twin cylinder engine
platform. Till now no one in Indian Automobile history has got into the twin cylinder format
in the motorcycle segment and if Bajaj Auto manages to do that then it will be a first for Indian
Motorcycle market to have that from Bajaj. In 1980s Yamaha released two strokes RD 350 and
Ideal Jawa made the Yezdi 350. They have featured 350cc parallel twin engines in late 80s and
thereafter there has been no other twin cylinder motorcycle presented in India.

TVS Motors also tried its best in producing the twin cylinder bet none turned into reality and
considering Bajaj, the most innovative two wheelers maker have effective chance to turn their
dreams into reality. KTM Duke 350 is expecting to focusing on single cylinder unit as it will be a
too early to expect a twin cylinder engine motorcycle launch from Bajaj-KTM.
