The Hyosung GT250R is all set to get launched today. After so much of wait and hiccups, Hyosung (now with DSK Group) is all set to launch the 3rd rival in the 250cc segment the GT250R (competing wiht the Honda CBR250R and the Kawasaki Ninja 250R)
This event is more of a refreshed launch of the Hyosung Comet that was their in 2005 but this time with a better engine and fully faired kit.
The launch event is being held at the The Trident Hotel at Nariman Point in Mumbai and the event has started from 11:30 next we are waiting for Mr. Shirish Kulkarni
Speculations have been roaming all around, its speculated that the GT250R would be priced around Rs. 2.5 Lakh ex showroom and Rs. 2.9 Lakh On Road, trust if the speculations are correct its thumbs down. We are hopping Hyosung offers something irresistable for the Indian Bikers something similar to what Honda offered with the CBR250R.
Further comparing the GT250R versus the CBR250R following are the give away points
1. The Hyosung GT250r looks way more muscular, more sporty and more thrilling than the CBR250R
2. GT250R is 24 HP @ 10000 RPM and CBR250R is 22.6 HP @ 9250 RPM
3. GT250R is more heavy than the CBR 250R
4. GT250R has a VTwin engine whereas the CBR has a single cylinder engine
5. GT250R has bigger rear tire compare to the CBR250R ( GT250r = 150/70 vs CBR250R = 140/70)
6. The CBR250R has a better mileage than the GT 250R
And the news is out:
Hyosung GT250R launched at Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) (Flop pricing – why i mean why the hell anybody will go for the GT250R when you have the Ninja 250R which is way much better than the GT250R) SAD
About the delivery of the bike (DSK Hyosung bikes to be in showrooms in 5 days. Deliveries two weeks after. GV etc coming before Diwali and then in November-December)
The GV250 Cruiser will be launched by September 2012
SCOOP: The reason why the GT250R is so expensive because of the issue with the localisation of parts, DSK and Hyosung are trying hard to set up their plant in India ASAP and when that happens the price of the Hyosung GT250R can come down till Rs. 1.5 Lakh
